If you are having a plan for holiday trip to Jakarta capitol, you have to visit Ancol Dreamland amusement park , it’s a must see for tourists. Ancol Dreamland is currently the largest integrated tourism area in South East Asia. The park boasting a theme park, an international championship golf course, hotels and other recreational facilities.

In the early1960s the first president of Indonesia, Sukarno, proposed the idea to convert the marshy area of Ancol into Jakarta’s largest entertainment center, with housing and industrial facility adjoining it. This idea however opposed the initial idea to convert the area of Ancol into a purely industrial site.

In 1966, the development of Ancol was started during the tenure of Ali Sadikin, the governor of Jakarta. The entertainment complex was named Taman Impian Jaya Ancol or Ancol Dreamland. The first facility opened for public was the Bina Ria Ancol. A recreational beach which was best known for its drive-in theater especially during the 1970s. Followed with a golf course, Oceanarium, Putri Duyung cottage, swimming pool, Hotel Horison and its casino. The Dunia Fantasi (Fantasy World) theme park was built in 1984.

Ancol Ocean Dream Samudra is located within the Ancol Dreamland (Taman Impian Ancol) waterfront entertainment complex, which has a small admission charge. Tickets to Ancol Ocean Dream Samudra are charged separately and cost significantly more.

One popular bundle includes both Ancol Ocean Dream Samudra and Ancol Sea World, another oceanarium concept within Dreamland. Most travelers combine a visit here with trips to more of Ancol Dreamland’s attractions.

Fantasy World (Dunia Fantasi) theme park is particularly popular especially among children. You can find roller coaster and swing boat in this theme park.
