  1. Pyramid of Giza were the first to built during the ancient Egypt era.
  2. Pyramids were built for religious purposes in order to serve the Egyptians’ belief for an afterlife concept.
  3. Besides pyramid Giza there are actually more than 118 identified Egyptian pyramids in Egypt and most were built during the Old and Middle Kingdom period.
  4. For ancient Egypt civilization, pyramids and tombs were used for Pharaohs.
  5. The pyramids are not entirely solid, the interior of the pyramid of Giza has three chambers and they are empty.
  6. The base of a pyramid can be a triangle, a square, a rectangle or other shapes.
  7. Ancient Egyptians built the pyramids about 4.600 years ago. The stones used to build the structure weighed more than an elephant.

  19. Pyramids were the tombs for kings of the Old Kingdom of pharaohs such as Djoser, Khafre and Menkaure. They were placed in a subterranean burial chamber underneath the structure.
