The Lamborghini Story : From Tractor To Sports Car. Insult is not always bad. Take example of this Lamborghini history.

The Lamborghini car maker or Automobili Lamborghini S.p. A. is an Italian car maker and manufacturer of luxury sports car. The company was founded by Feruccio Lamborghini in May 1963 in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, to compete with Ferrari. In 1973 during the world financial crisis the sales went down and the company changed ownership for a few times.

Ferruccio sold the company to Georges-Henri Rosetti and Rene Leimer in 1974. The company went bankrupt in 1978. Brothers Jean-Claude and Patrick Mimran purchased the company in 1984. The Mimrans then sold Lamborghini to American automaker Chrysler Corporation in 1987 and then sold it to Malaysian investment group Mycom Setdco and Indonesian group V’Power Corporation in 1994.

In 1998, Volkswagen Group bought Lamborghini from Mycom Setdco and V’Power and placed it under Audi division. During this era, new products and model lines were introduced to the market and productivity increased but in the late 2000’s Lamborghini’s sales dropped to nearly 50 percent due to the worldwide financial crisis.

The first models of Lamborghini cars were released in the mid-1960’s such as the 350 GT. The current lineups from Lamborghini are the V12 Aventador and the V10 Huracan including the Urus V8 engine SUV.

Lamborghini was already popular for tractor maker before. The Lamborghini Trattori company was founded in 1948 by Feruccio Lamborghini and headquartered in Pieva di Cento, Italy. The company is an Italian agricultural machinery manufacturer which designs and builds tractors. It continues to produce tractors.

The founding of Lamborghini Automobili was triggered by Enzo Ferrari. He bought an expensive Ferrari but was upset with some mechanical problem of the car. According to an interview published in 1991 in a British magazine, Thoroughbred and Classic Cars, Ferrucio Lamborghini was insulted by Enzo Ferrari after complaining about mechanical difficulties with his Ferrari. After that argument Lamborghini decided to start his own rival sports car company.

Lamborghini uses bull for their emblem because the world of bullfighting was an interesting life for Ferrucio. In 1962, Feruccio visited the Seville ranch of Don Eduardo Miura, a breeder of Spanish fighting bulls. Lamborghini was so impressed by the Miura animals and made a raging bull as the emblem for his upcoming automaker company at the time.

The names of fighting bulls are later used by Lamborghini in their products, except for Countach, a language in northwestern region of Italy. in 1966, the Miura sports coupe gained big attention for the automaker.

According to wikipedia, in 2014 Lamborghini had revenue for EU 586 million with Net income reached EU 10.1 million and number of employees about 1.150 in 2015. As of August 2019 Lamborghini was valued at $11 billion with around 140 dealerships around the world.
