What To Expect In 2021
What To Expect In 2021 ?
This year 2020 is a roller coaster, not in upward but mostly downward for the world. The COVID-19 pandemic really hits the global life badly.
A year to forget, a new year to celebrate for most. We want to leaveĀ this year as soon as we can, and that’s normal. But is that really that simple ?
Next year some vaccines for the COVID-19 would be widely spread. The effectiveness of these vaccines are about 90%-95% according to the pharma companies. And this is good news for us after months of news about death tolls and infected people get higher and higher. But still it takes time for the cure to be injected to humans in this planet. With over 8 billion people live today it could takes months or even years to achieve that circumstance.
Of course what we need now is be patient and keep doing the health protocol until at least six months ahead. For now our concern is to maintain the health facility to their best status and keeping our health in prime condition.
And the rest of daily routine in 2021 will be much more the same like 2020. Health protocol, struggling economy, lockdowns and delayed events as necessary. Below are some predictions worldwide from some sectors regarding the prospect we will have next year.
From financial markets, it is expected to continue delivering more of what we had in 2020. This could happen from support by massive government fiscal stimulus, the continuation of accommodative monetary policies and ambitious asset purchase programs. Emerging Market’s assets, which are currently under-priced, may become star performers in 2021.
Precious metal, gold in particular, could perform well in 2021 due to increasing demand by those who wish to hedge inflationary dangers or to balance their portfolios with a heavy emphasis on riskier instruments. As for the cryptocurrency it is extremely difficult to tell what will it be in the next 12 months time. Bitcoin for example remains too volatile to have firm predictions although lately they gain greater traction with larger investors.
For healthcare organizations the economic and clinical vulnerability resulting from the pandemic will drive 20% of them to embrace integrated care to improve outcomes during 2021. Meanwhile by the emergenceĀ of the new corona virus, investments by life science companies to support the utilization of real-world evidence globally will double by year 2022.
In the Information Technology sector it is obvious that more phones will have 5G technology. In 2020 much of the world’s population was forced to quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus. We become more depending on video calls and social networks far more than we had been in the past years. Connectivity and spreading of this new signal will available in all countries even not in a fast growth like before. It is possible to see more and more affordable smartphones released in the market next year by smartphone giants like Samsung, Huawei and Apple.
Technology companies like Space X will broaden their service for public. Their wireless internet service will be available to have for subscription by February or March but still in US area only. Space X has invested heavily on this and will likely be doing aggressive marketing if this service get a good welcome from US costumers.
The property technology and insurance technology sectors underwent significant transformations in 2020. The proptech struggled some with momentum in the face of office closures while the insurtech space saw a number of IPOs and M&As.
The global military power will unlikely change drastically with US military forces still remain the super power in the world domination. The new US armed force, The Space Force will establish new roles in the upcoming year to maintain US presence in outer space. Russia and China meanwhile will still upgrading their military forces to new technology and geo-politics map around the world is much likely be the same.
Bottom line is, let’s face next year with preparations, mentally and physically. Not too skeptical but still has hope for better future for what to expect in 2021.
