The Gleaming History Of Hollywood

The gleaming history of Hollywood that produce many historical movies in the modern culture of human.

American cinema, commonly referred to as Hollywood, has had a discernible effect on cinemas around the world since the early 20th century. Its history is sometimes divided into four main periods: the silent film era, classic Hollywood cinema, New Hollywood, and the contemporary period.

Currently, the term ‘Hollywood film’ is attached to films produced by film companies from the United States. In other words, the company producing the film must have its headquarters in the United States.

In 1878, Eadweard Muybridge demonstrated the ability of photography to capture motion. In 1894, the world’s first commercial film exhibition was held in New York City, using Thomas Edison’s Kinetoscope. The United States is on the trail when it comes to the next generation of sound film development.

The Gleaming History Of Hollywood

In 1908 Thomas Alfa Edison founded a company, namely Motion Picture Patent Company (MPPC). Thomas Alfa Edison provided the tools and raw materials for making a film. Companies that make films must become members of the MPPC in order to obtain licenses and distribute their films through this company. Companies that are not members cannot make films because they do not obtain patents and licenses from MPPC.

Several MPPC members decided to leave, including D.W Griffith, one of the directors of the biograph company. Then in 1912, the United States government banned MPPC from operating because it was considered to be a monopoly on the raw material market.

In the 1910s, several MPPC members decided to leave and move to California because of pressure from the MPPC. The former and non-MPPC member companies moved to the California area to be precise Hollywood. Not only because it avoided MPPC, but geographically Hollywood is an area that has a suitable climate for filmmaking.

The Gleaming History Of Hollywood

Since the early 20th century, the US film industry has been based largely in and around Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Picture City, FL was also a planned location for a film production center in the 1920s, but due to the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane, the idea fell through and Picture City reverted to its original Hobe Sound name.

American screen actors such as John Wayne, Clark Gable, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley became iconic figures, and legends of US pop culture while producer/entrepreneur Walt Disney was a leader in animated films and film merchandise.

Along with these changes, the Hollywood film industry entered a new era. It is no longer only played in luxury cinemas but is also played on cable TV, HBO, Netflix, also played in online media, especially on Youtube.

People watch movies no longer solely on cinema screens, television, “free to air”, cable TV, but also on laptops, tablets, iPhones, on airplanes, trains and city buses.
